Late summer recap

August 12th, 2002 · No Comments

Mmm, lunch time! A little later than usual, I let Hubby-kun go first. So far today has been good, I’m almost done with the infamous cheerleading website. ^_~ I’m starting to get trained on our shopping cart system, ever so briefly… I’m always amazed at how much more knowledge remains for me to absorb, no matter how much I feel I’ve already absorbed. But that’s okay. Job skills! Skills are good!!

It seems The Child is enjoying her blog commenting system, and her pair of Weasleys, so I guess that means a job well done for me! Oh yeah, the weekend summary: Saturday we slept in, had lunch with J’s dad at Poncho & Lefty’s, got money for laundry, napped again (it was hot), played Mario Kart 64, walked to my parents’ house to pick up our bikes and pet the wolfies, walked back home, had dinner and finally got to laundry at 9pm. We walked to the Shell station and bought drinks and snacks, and I attempted to study PHP while we waited (attempted being the key word).

Sunday we slept in again, had a leisurely breakfast of eggs and cinnamon toast, and went to Yreka to get a few things at Walmart. We had lunch at Carl’s Jr., got our stuff, and decided to go see the last day of the county fair. A little redneck atmosphere is good once in a while…. We walked around, bought books at the library sale ($1 for a shopping bag full!), looked at the cows, the art and photography, watched some guys get hypnotized and part of a dog talent show, ate some ice cream and went home. ^_~ No rides, because stupidly we hit the booksale first… but really, we were broke so we couldn’t afford it anyway.

Sunday evening, when we returned, my parents had invited us to dinner, so we hung out and played with the dogs again. Eventually J drove home and I walked with my mom and Natasha, since she’s the easiest to walk of the three, and we sat on the lawn outside our duplex and hung out in the shade. It’s funny, Tash wouldn’t drink water that wasn’t from her bowl, even though she was really thirsty! She liked our lawn though, it was damp and cool. Mom agreed that we need to start stocking a few “cookies” (biscuits) at our house, for when she and Tash come to visit. ^_^

Strangely enough, I had a dream last night that Johan and I had a little wolfy puppy and we were playing with it. It was at that age where they’re still super-soft and cuddly, wobbly? I want a puppy. *_* Actually I want a kitty more, I think, slightly less maintenance involved, but sadly we’re not having anything until we move to a place that’s pet-friendly. [sigh]
