I got accepted at Rutgers into the masters degree program with a full-ride scholarship for two years. No, actually, I DON’T know what to do. [Ducks and hides from a deluge of advice.]
Saturday we were cleansing ourselves like two good little people when the doorbell rang. My dad was at the door, asking no questions and worked on our car for a bit. Sadly, El Ma-tsu-da was not fixed by either new spark plugs or a new fuel filter, so back to the shop it goes. ;_; This sucks. We ended up spending most of the day over at my parents’, and we quickly organized an impromptu barbeque to celebrate the nice weather. We dashed home and made cornbread muffins, steamed asparagus, and a new gourmet goodie, shortbread with lavender glaze icing. I can post a brief recipe here if anyone’s interested, it was really great! ^___^ My dad made steaks, Nikita refused to go out and got all the scraps, and we had a good evening despite the car breakage factor.
Sunday my parents picked us up at 10:30 and we all went up to Oregon to go grocery shopping. (Lunch at Señor Sam’s! :D :D :D Mom loved it!) We shopped around Ashland for a bit, introduced my mom to the Ashland Rock Shop, bought rocks *___* …then we headed up to Medford, hung out at Barnes & Noble for a bit, did some shopping at the mall, and got groceries. I found some short zip-up black boots for my trip (something that goes with everything, closed-toe), so that’s one thing off my conference to-get list! All in all we had a really fun day, my parents were in a good mood for a change, it was refreshing. After we got home, we put away the groceries and watched The Fifth Element, having picked it up on DVD because our tape was breaking. ;_; We love that movie too much.
This morning I’ll be working on a work layout again, and wondering what I should do and where I should go. I know the answer seems obvious, and maybe it is to me as well as to you, but there’s something holding me up and I want to figure out what it is before I commit to either school.
