Stress and more stress.

July 7th, 2003 · 1 Comment

Mmm. My first impetus is to open IE, since Mozilla rendered Blogger’s previous posting section erroneously… gotta get out of that habit. Well. It’s been a long weekend, hasn’t it? :P Where to start, where to start.

Friday was the 4th of July, and Johan, Elrohir and I worked at the MyISP internet café from 6 am - 3 pm. It was fairly boring and frustrating, but some of the time it was fun. ^^;;; The café seems to be doing well. After we got off work, Johan drove a coworker home, and Elrohir and Lenneth took me home with my box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. :9 Johan and I cleaned up and headed down to his parents’ house for the evening, his sister barbequed (she’s a fantastic cook, and wants to give me her best original recipies, I’m delighted *___* ) and we tortured her chihuahuas/set off fireworks. We had all been up early/late (his mom and sister ran the Krispy Kreme booth, his dad went on the midnight run to Sacramento to get them, we worked the café and gave them away) so we parted ways early and went to bed at 9.

Saturday was Johan’s birthday, and we got up and ready early to do some shopping in Ashland before his party at the Black Sheep… and found that the car is breaking down again. [SIGH] Lenneth and Elrohir drove us up instead. I managed to get my last increment of beads necessary to get a $10 gift certificate at The Bead Studio, so I had some fun getting more stuff, and helping Lenneth pick out beads for an anklet, which I’m going to help her make. The boys helped too. We got together with my parents, J’s parents and A-chan at the pub and had lunch, then we took A-chan with us for the rest of the day so she could play go-karts with Johan and Elrohir. We shopped, got movies and cds (the Sci-Fi channel Dune mini-series on DVD, U2: Best of 1990-2000 music video DVD, Demolition Man, October — U2 and a two-disc best-of for Aerosmith), had dinner at Arby’s and hit the Family Fun Center for most of the late afternoon and evening. After go-karts we all played a round of mini-golf; A-chan decided she lacked golfing skills and became the golf club model for the remainder of the course. We went inside and played video games — airplane sims, Elrohir did DDR and made us all feel uncoordinated, Johan and I played a game that won us 400+ tickets and several small cheap plastic items. ^^;;; We did some grocery shopping and headed home, limping our car home from E&L’s house.

Sunday we slept in, watched almost all the videos on the U2 DVD, got dressed and walked down to the street fair, and ended up buying minerals from the Ashland Rock Shop booth (which I specifically avoided going to the day before, for fear of buying more rocks), got some curly fries and hung out for a while. After we walked back, we spent the afternoon/evening at my parents’ house, playing with the shedding wolfies and helping my dad do eBay again. ^^; We barbequed and I discovered that I make hamburgers the way my grandmother did, which pleasantly surprised my dad and delighted me. ^^;;; Some family friends came over and we spent most of the evening gabbing.

Today my replacement at work came in for the morning, I think we’ll get along well. I’ve been trying to explain things to her, and now that I’m done with her for the day (and hopefully client work as well) I’m going to try and catch up on a few things…. Life is busy, and there’s only a handful of days in July that don’t already have things scheduled on them… and we’re moving in less than 30 days. @_@;;;
