Today was my first trip to the Duke University campus, and boy was it fantastically Gothic in architectural style. Every building reminded me of things I’d seen in Britain. What started out as a bad day turned good after all, when I finally found the UNC-Duke shuttle and enjoyed a peaceful 25-minute ride to Durham. My class at Duke is a practical lab training in the use of the electron microprobe, which is a very complicated way of finding out what all elements are in a particular mineral sample. It’s a big machine and I’m very excited about it. ^^;;
On the website angle, today La Smoking Bomber rolled over 100 members! ^_^ Other than that I don’t have much to report, just reading, photocopying and finding a new bus, campus, building and classroom (in that order). Tomorrow’s Friday! :D
