Ann Druyan gives a moving, personal tribute to her late husband, in honor of the tenth anniversary of his death. I grew up on Cosmos — I still have the original, dog-eared copy of the book my parents owned. I used to draw Saturn V rockets and Ganymede from that book, when I was little. I was given the series on DVD a few Christmases ago; popping the first one in and hearing the intro music moved me to tears. I’m misty just thinking of it.
My journey through life has taken many interesting twists so far, but I can say without any reservations that I owe a lot of my space enthusiasm to Carl. A LOT.

Carl, I doubt we would see eye to eye on a lot of things, but that has never stopped me from giving you the utmost of respect. Thank you Ann, for reassuring me that he was, indeed, exactly the kind of man I thought he’d be. And thanks to Joel, for starting the Carl Sagan Blog-a-thon!
