Beading

February 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Spent the late evening last night beading, for Mom’s birthday present. She presented me with an exquisite strand of Czech glass faceted round beads, a lovely mossy green. The color fades from green to charcoal, so I strung them with dark olivine-colored seed beads and round polished pyrite beads — hematite seemed too shiny, too silver. These beads are magnificent, they deserved subtlety. (I hope she likes the necklace, it’s dressy and professional.) I’ve got some left over for Lenneth, and some for myself, enough I think to make an identical necklace to Mom’s (or something very similar; I liked the way it turned out.)

I have a hard time making the time to make *myself* anything; mostly I bead for presents, for others. I have some fantastically UFO-looking colored pearls (and finally, I have a beading awl) to make two necklaces — one knotted and spaced, with a central accent, one knotted solid strand. They’re sitting there waiting to be started, along with everything else that goes by the wayside when I’m swamped with work.

Anyway, I had beads on the brain this morning, having found a couple of bead blogs via Lenneth’s MyBlogLog profile. I love beads. ^^; (Especially Swarovski crystals. And Japanese seed beads.)
