Spent the weekend around the house, working on the yard and cleaning up the garage (somewhat.) I finally hung my Japanese summer bell (fish-shaped) and our birdfeeder — between those two, Ivan should have plenty to observe (and twitch his tail over) in the front yard. I unpacked one of “those” boxes, the ones that have sat in place for approximately twelve months? and disposed of most of the contents. It’s amazing how much bath stuff one accumulates, but does not ever *actually* use.
In the Silly Danielle Antics department, yesterday I went to the hardware store and bought (approximately) an eighth of a pound of nails. (I only really needed one, but decided to buy a handful, in case I need to hang something large outside, ever again. It was for the birdfeeder.) The lady at the register gave me a bit of a stare before ringing me out (for a whopping 15 cents. Woo-hoo! Big spender.) SURE, I could have bought a pound of nails for under a dollar, but I don’t NEED a pound of nails. I needed A NAIL. Not living at home with Handyman Pop means that I cannot simply wander into any room of the house and locate the bit of hardware I require.
Anyway, quiet weekend. It was nice, I’d forgotten what it was like to have two days at home (in a row.) Spent all day Saturday trying to convince myself that there was a Sunday coming to me, too. Too many weekend all-day errands, methinks….
