First of all, a fellow IconBuffet cohort created a great pin/badge site called Modest Messages, sporting emotes, favorite typefaces, interesting art and miscellaneous geekery. I requested the Georgia button, as well as the ^^; sweatdrop button, both of which he has printed. Everyone needs a sweatdrop emote button, do they not??
I’ve been all over the Intarweb in the past two days, so here’s a few things I found notable:
- Five situations when you shouldn’t go to graduate school — I think I’m guilty of that mindset, or at least, I was in the past. (This post and others further reinforce that I have got to read Penelope’s book.)
- Thinking and Driving — I’m afraid I’m an interface addict, as well. I don’t feel productive unless I’m interacting everywhere possible… which ain’t so good for the productivity, incidentally.
- Wall Murals @ HubbleSite — HubbleSite just won a Webby, which is awesome! :D These wall murals, however, are even more awesome. I’m hoping they offer more in future! I do wish it was in color, instead of black and white, but it’s very artistic as-is. I’m planning to do similar things myself, although my plan involves high-end giclée prints, not mosaic-style. ^^;
- Crayola Executive Pen @ ThinkGeek — Words cannot express how much I want one of these. Blue, preferably, though the black is nice as well.
- Oh, and Wordpress 2.2 is out. More upgrading for me-wee. I should just bite the bullet and install a non-customized theme here, upgrade. I miss auto-draft saving.

Words cannot express (and neither can facially anthropomorphic punctuation) how much I prefer Japanese emoticons to those American!

Glad to see that, Brian — I never knew what I was missing, before I found them! In truth, if I should own ANY Japanese emote on a pin, it should probably be this: @_@; …if only because that’s the most frequently used one. Even my cellphone knows that one, for texts. ^^;
I suppose the definition of that, in my view, would be something akin to “weirded me out beyond words, but too embarrassed to admit it.”
