I was delighted to discover this weekend that the tiny, illustrated Golden Guide books I spent so many childhood hours examining — books which my mother examined during her childhood — were reprinted (and selectively revised) in 2001. At $6.95 you really can’t say no! I picked up my two favorites (shown above), half in disbelief at actually holding them in my hands after so many years. Besides the two above, there’s there’s many more Golden Guides (and yes, they’re on a wishlist because I intend to get them ALL.) Check them out!
A library of childhood delights

If there’s anyone who needs to be reminded that the sun is a mass of incandescent gas, you’re not that person! However, you might want to sing along with the Singing Science Records just soze you never forget that fun fact.
