Today is Serenitatis.com’s ten-year anniversary, and I don’t even have an image update for it. I’m a bad site-mother. -_-; I have a lovely new site version planned, but work marches on and personal sites are shunted to the back. (Except the new version @ Hoshichan.com, like it? It’s only a modified theme, but I need to cancel Dreamhost this week so I don’t get charged.)

I spent yesterday with Lenneth, shepherding chauffeuring accompanying my mother around Medford as she made several wedding-related stops, had her final dress fitting and bought ingredients for a pair of Irish stews we’re making for the post-reception hootnanny (as L has taken to calling it. My stepfather is calling it a “hooley”, which I think is Irish for “lots of booze”.)

I’d never seen a bridezilla before; now I have. She bought me a pair of high heels and an outfit for the wedding. Although actually I ended up with three outfits. Two and a half. Whatever. For my birthday. Don’t you love getting clothes for your birthday? I don’t, but I’m broke, so what can I do?

I bought four gemstone beads at Bead Studio with my birthday gift card, and other than that, I drove. It was a long and somewhat unrewarding day. That’s a fairly accurate forecast for the rest of the week, incidentally: long and unrewarding. (Do I sound bitter?)

I’m running out of excuses to hit the shower and head down to Mount Shasta, if only to work on high-speed for a few hours before starting the stew-making process. (Lenneth will be joining me after work.) I’m feeling apathetic and depressed, mostly because my birthday is getting the shaft this year (whee, day before the wedding. My birthday is Friday and I have nothing planned. Although drinking sounds appealing, at the moment.) Also, partly because I don’t want to meet all this new “family” I’m inheriting by proxy. I’m about as uninterested as I could be, in truth. I never thought I’d really want to be a recluse and cut myself off (all but completely) from my family, but I’m just too exhausted to play anymore.

I think starting next week, I’ll fend for myself, thanks.
