Everything around me is a mess.

I set out this afternoon to clean up my office. So far, almost nothing has occurred on the surface, but I have another inch of shitajiki to sell and I’ve put most of the other card sets I own (besides the BSSM pp cards, naturally) on the sale pile. I’ve cleaned out four binders of goods and straightened two bookshelves.

I’ve cleaned Hoshichan archives through August 2002, which is quite a bit, actually, a little over a year’s worth of posts. It’ll take a while to get everything properly tagged, categorized and code-stripped, but I’ll get me there eventually. I’m enjoying going through old things, remembering things forgotten, and deleting really dumb stuff I wouldn’t bother posting anymore. (No wonder I could average a post a day all this time. I’m deleting posts right and left!)

Unfortunately, while my collections of goods are being “cleaned” more or less, the result is more boxes, proliferating on my office floor. I have four boxes (some large) of goods for sale, and that’s not counting two boxes of books for Powell’s, and another healthy stack of books unboxed, for Powell’s. I’m thinking of adding some manga to the mix, if only to free up more shelf room for things I really want to read and collect.

I think, more than physical cleaning, what I’m doing is cleaning my BRAIN, my PRIORITIES and my LIFE, here. Do I REALLY need hundreds of cards I never look at, boards I don’t really care about, manga I don’t or can’t read, series I no longer follow, or things I’d only read over in English? No? Then why are they taking up space in my office? Space is a premium. I have no space.

I’m drawing up a new furniture arrangement for the office, once more shelves are freed of disorganized books, items and binders. More things may yet be sold, I’m not sure how far this will take me. The Zip Goods store will be an eternal update, at the rate I’m going. @_@; But it feels good to shed burdens, both material and things online. I turned over yet more of the last remaining TAFL “keys” this week, and I can’t even express how GREAT I feel. Free, light as a feather. I hardly know what to do with this feeling, it’s unreal.

I do know one thing: I have a large payment to put towards my debt, thanks to the auctions that sold, and one of my friends being a little too shitajiki-happy for her own good. ;)
