It being the Day of the SteveNote, naturally Apple updates both iTunes and Quicktime, resulting in a potential 100 MEGS of updates for me. I opt to update iTunes, as I never use QT anyway. Software Update aborts the install after a while, I shrug, I move on.
Jon launches iTunes, imports a playlist, burns a CD and quits. I launch iTunes, and find myself staring at the original dozen or so cds and five miscellaneous MP3s I imported into iTunes… in 2003. My entire iTunes library, playlists, hundreds of cds, days of music, all gone. (The files are still on my hard drive, thank goodness.)
Oy, the playlist rebuilding I have in store for me tomorrow….

Am glad I read this before trying to update again. Ever since the update in October iTunes refuses to even OPEN on my computer. Judging by the Apple support forums, I’m not alone.
I knew I should have stuck with Media Player.

Needless to say I will be backing up my iTunes Library files religiously in future. For now, I’m waiting for Johan to bring down the updater files so I can do a clean reinstall of iTunes, as it’s now freezing my computer… which is hard to do on OS X. T_T;
