Time keeps on slipping

I’m anxious about work, that I’m not doing enough more fastly; I’m anxious about my writing, that I’m not doing any at all; I’m anxious about my blogging, that each day I wake up and can think of nothing to say but that I’m working and haven’t written at all. Trying to calm down and take things one at a time, but it’s hard; I think I’ve been working up to this stress-ball for a few days now. Did a little research on Selene this morning, stuff to read and explore later on. Hopefully things will even out soon.

I finished The Ruby Key this morning (Holly Lisle’s first children’s fantasy, newly out) and all I can say about it is that it was absolutely fantastic. FAN-TASTIC. Incredible. Waiting for The Silver Door (book 2) to come out is going to be excruciating, to say the least. Also, without giving away the surprising delights and details, let me just say that from a design/tactile/printing standpoint, The Ruby Key is bar-none the most beautifully-made book in my library. Absolutely the most amazing book I own, from dust-jacket to printed page. If I had a shelf of books this nice, just one shelf, I’d fall over in euphoria; it is THAT NICE.

This is a great new series, and the book practically glues itself to your face. I highly recommend picking it up!
